Selling tips

Selling on several marketplaces without overselling

Opening shops on several platforms reaches more customers, but nearly every seller hits the same problem: the last unit sells in two places at once, and one order has to be cancelled. That hits your shop rating directly.

The cause: several stock counts that don't talk to each other

When each platform keeps its own number and you update them one by one, updates always lag behind sales, especially during live sessions or campaigns when orders arrive by the minute.

The principle: one central stock count

Every platform reads from the same number. When an order comes in from any channel, central stock is deducted immediately and the remaining quantity is pushed back to every channel.

Five ways to stop overselling

  • Use the same SKUs on every platform so the system matches products correctly

  • Keep a safety stock for best-sellers, for example 2–3 units held back

  • Connect platforms to a system that deducts stock automatically instead of editing by hand

  • Regularly count physical stock against the system

  • Set aside stock for live sessions and special promotions explicitly

When your stock sits in a fulfillment warehouse

With a fulfillment provider, physical stock and system stock are the same thing. Every item taken off a shelf is scanned and deducted on the spot, and you see real-time balances instead of guessing.

Sell everywhere, count stock in one place: that's the core of multi-channel selling.
